Help Locally - Give Locally

I found that the staff and volunteers treat the clients with the utmost respect and are very sensitive to the client’s needs. My experience with EWCS has been very positive and encouraging. I am among the lucky people to have someone in my life that knew about this charity. As I would be lost without the programs and services offered.

The thing I missed most when I retired was the people I connected with daily. Volunteering has connected me with so many wonderful new people who have become friends. I love working and playing with all the books in Bookends where I have dusted off skills I thought I might never need again and where I have been challenged with different skills needed for the in-store and online books. EWCS volunteers are helping support the local community.

I'm grateful for the warm atmosphere at my "home away from home" in Erin. The staff and volunteers are exceptional, attending to my special needs with care and respect. The program provides a fantastic social experience and essential physical exercise, which is vital for my health. I look forward to conversations with both staff and participants. I enjoy the challenges of the games and the learning environment, given that I'm an ex-teacher. The meals are a delightful change from my own cooking, and sharing them with friends adds to the enjoyment of the experience.

For 6 long years, I have struggled to not use our local food bank, I had to call upon EWCS at Christmas, unfortunately not a very proud moment. I was shocked when the food and gift hamper arrived. On Christmas morning, as the kids open gifts, I realized that every one of their wishes has been fulfilled.

EWCS’s Outreach Services helped us get set up with the rent subsidy program which helped reduce some of our costs and allowed us to breathe. It was easier knowing we can support our family better. The entire team have been wonderful and truly make me feel more comfortable with the situation we never thought we’d be in.
